Books to Add to Your TBR This Fall

Books to Add to Your TBR this Fall

Fall. Sigh. I love fall. The leaves changing, the air getting cooler, the anticipation of fall and winter holidays, festivals, and celebrations. Hot chocolate. Campfires. Fall-flavored coffees and foods. Sweaters and scarves. Cozy books. All of it. I decorate early (as in, I’m about to decorate my house and it’s 90 degrees outside) because I want to soak up as much of my favorite season as I can. It’s comforting to me.

I also love books (surprise, surprise) and I’m definitely a mood reader. So when the fall and winter months come along, I have to have books that have some kind of fall and winter feel to them. That doesn’t mean that they have to be set in one of those seasons (although many of them are). They just have to feel right for the season. I hope that makes sense.

So sometimes that means I want more intense thrillers or mysteries. Sometimes it means I want something cozy, a classic maybe or a cute little romance (fun fact: fall and winter are the only months when I will consider reading romance–it’s just not my cup of tea, usually!). My TBR lists are pretty all over the place!

I searched through a few lists that suggested some great books to add to your fall TBR and I put together a list of books that at the very least feel like fall to me. I haven’t read all of them, but I’m hoping to get to a few this season. And I would love it if you would add some of your favorites in the comments below.

I’ll be posting a whole separate list on Halloween reads in October so be sure to check back for more recommendations!

There are a lot of book lists out there that will include many other genres, but these are the two that I tend to reach for the most. Let me know if you have read any of these, or if you decide to add them to your fall TBR. I’m excited to dive into many of these–and more–this season!

Happy reading,
